John Finch carries on the legacy of helping San Antonio homeowners create custom dream residences, a reputation born from a strong work ethic instilled by his father-in-law and co-founder who migrated from Germany in the 1950s. J&J Development homes grace many of the San Antonio area’s finest neighborhoods including The Canyons of Scenic Loop, Stone Creek Ranch, Mystic Shores of Canyon Lake, Emerald Forest, The Dominion, Deerfield, The Waters of Deerfield, Vista Del Norte, Sonterra, Sendero Ranch, River Crossing, Trophy Oaks, Terrell Hills, Alamo Heights, Hill Country Village, Hollywood Park, as well as numerous client-owned sites throughout Bexar, Kendall and Comal Counties. We also had the honor of being selected to build the 1986 Symphony Designer Showcase Home in The Estates of Sonterra.

The building process can seem overwhelming to prospective homebuyers if not provided with the proper guidance. It’s our job to make this process as understandable and seamless as possible. In our initial meeting with our clients we take the opportunity to get to know one another and discuss their ideas before proceeding with the process. Once both parties have established a level of comfort and have agreed to move forward, we will outline and clearly define the building process from design through completion.
Over the years we have developed strong relationships with our workers and vendors and will not entertain bids for the sake of building a lesser quality or expensive home. This policy has allowed us to develop mutual respect, pride and loyalty between all parties involved, along with consistency in the quality of our product.

John Finch personally inspects every home daily. This allows us to maintain a high level of quality control and responsiveness to the decisions that must be addressed before small problems become big problems. As a custom builder we do not discourage or penalize homebuyers for initiating change orders. There will be opportunities at several stages during construction that will allow changes to occur seamlessly with minimal disruption to the process while keeping costs in line.
